Subscription-Model Energy Drinks
Dollar Shots Club sells premium energy beverages via a subscription service.
In 2015, the energy beverage market reached more than $13.5 billion in sales—but at the moment, there's only one significant player in the energy shot industry.
Dollar Shots Club aims to change that. Energy supplements have become a lifestyle habit for many Americans, and the company believes that having a bundle of "great-tasting, fast-acting energy shots" shipped straight to the customer's door is the future of the industry.
It aims to be the Dollar Shave Club (a subscription razor-blade start-up that was acquired by Unilever for $1 billion earlier this year) for energy shots.
Its products are formulated with high-quality ingredients and come in flavors like "Berry Blitz" and "GrapenessXS."
Its products don't have the typical side effects of other energy supplements: no headaches, sugar crashes, or stained teeth.
Currently, when a consumer wants an energy shot, they need to go to a store and purchase one for $3 or more a bottle.
At $1 per shot delivered to the customer's home, Dollar Shots Club sells its product for a third of the price of the competition, and provides its customers the ability to better control their purchase habits.
