GluCase is the world's first all-in-one smartphone case glucometer for diabetics.

Diabetes is a pandemic. UnitedHealth Group predicts that over half of all American adults will become diabetic or pre-diabetic by 2020. People with diabetes are forced to monitor and manage their condition with devices that are inconvenient, bulky, and unintuitive. Moreover, the data around their condition is not utilized for insights to improve their health.

GluCase empowers people with diabetes to live their lives untethered from bulky meters, cables, and testing supplies. GluCase is an all-in-one solution embedded into a smartphone case, combining a meter, test strips, lancets, and a Bluetooth module.

Users can view glucose readings in the context of other actionable information (activity, diet, and medications) and receive real-time coaching from their care team via a mobile app, enabling the delivery of better preventative care.

The company is already backed by such investors and corporate partners as Techstars and Sprint.

According to the company, as of February 2017, it's in negotiations to close its first B2B partnerships (estimated $10M annual recurring revenue).

As Larry Ellingson, Former Chairman of the American Diabetes Association (and current Strategy Chief at GluCase) said, "GluCase will go a long way toward enhancing convenience and compliance for people with diabetes, which in turn will improve outcomes which is the goal consistent with our health care providers and payers."

Some FAQs as answered by the company:

*What is your revenue model?*
A recurring-revenue, monthly subscription for disposable supplies, mobile application, and dashboard.

*What is your business strategy?*
The company will initially target endocrinology and primary care practices where most newly diagnosed individuals receive their glucose meters and visit every three months to review their blood sugar.

*How do you handle the magnitude of different models of cell phones?*
We have partnered with OtterBox, the #1 selling case in North America. Our solution functions with their system which takes into account different phone models.

*Does your business model necessitate insurance reimbursement?*
No, there is significant opportunity with or without reimbursement from big payers. For those that aren't covered, we match their typical out-of-pocket expense.

*Do you have to go through the FDA process?*
The white-labeled meter that we're integrating into our proprietary case system is already FDA cleared.
