Pairser is a software-as-a-service company targeting the Development, Security & Operations, or “DevSecOps” market.

This is a rapidly-growing industry, projected to reach $5.3 billion by 2023.

Please note: this particular startup is raising funds from “accredited” investors only. An accredited investor is someone with a net worth of at least $1 million, or annual income of at least $200,000 ($300,000 with their spouse).

DevSecOps involves a set of tools that enable software developers to write computer code faster and with more accuracy. With these tools, developers can produce code more efficiently, and fix issues, or “bugs,” more quickly.

Many of the world’s largest companies place a high value on these tools. That’s why M&A activity in the DevSecOps industry has increased recently, and why companies including Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Oracle have sought to acquire startups in this space.

In May 2018, for example, Salesforce acquired MuleSoft, a software platform enabling companies to build application networks, for $6.5 billion.

And this year, Symantec acquired Luminate, a security software company, for $200 million, while Check Point acquire Dome9, a cloud firewall management service, for $200 million.

Meanwhile, publicly-traded DevSecOps companies like Splunk (NASDAQ: SPLK) and Atlassian (NASDAQ: TEAM) both have market caps north of $20 billion.

Pairser is targeting this industry, and is led by a pair of co-founders with extensive experience in the DevSecOps industry.

Co-founder Gal Tamir has been awarded nine patents for products currently used by Microsoft for its suite of office and cyber products. And Chief Technology Officer Ken Fox has been coding since the age of 9, and has contributed toward notable projects such as JavaParser and ANTLR4.

Pairser aims to solve a growing problem for businesses dealing with recently-enacted privacy regulations.

With privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, companies must now overhaul the accessibility their employees have to sensitive data, particularly Personally Identifiable Information, or “PII” for short. This is information that can potentially identify a specific individual.

Companies that aren’t compliant with these new regulations face steep fines and penalties.

The problem is that these regulations make it difficult for software developers and administrators to complete tasks like building code, or fixing issues that customers report. And current solutions that allow access to this information leave companies exposed to compliance risk and fines.

Pairser’s solution is a digital gateway that provides individual, customizable, time-sensitive permissions. This enables software developers to fix issues, and information to be transferred within a company’s network while remaining fully compliant with regulations.

In addition, Pairser’s solution enables information to be encrypted, enabling employees to get a clearer understanding of any issues customers are experiencing without viewing PII or any unauthorized information.

Pairser’s product is in its “alpha” stage, meaning the company has completed a working demo, but is still developing the final product. The company has provisional patents for its technology and is conducting a pilot program.

Pairser will charge smaller businesses $120 per user per month, and charge larger companies $499 per “team” per month. There will also be additional fees for data usage.

Once its product is ready for market, Pairser will sell directly to businesses, and work with partners like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform to help re-sell its product.

Team Background

Ken Fox - Co-Founder & CTO

Like his co-founder, Ken has extensive experience building DevSecOps tools.

He began programming at the age of 9, and has since invented different methods of testing and installing software programs.

For two years, Ken developed a system that uses code analysis to visualize and understand how different pieces of code are dependent on each other. In addition, he contributed toward notable software projects including JavaParser (a program designed to help process a popular computer-based language) and ANTLR4 (another program designed for computer-based language recognition).

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Israel Institute of Technology and a Law degree from Bar-Ilan University.

Dr. Gal Tamir - Co-Founder & CEO

Gal has 10 years of hands-on experience building DevSecOps tools.

Throughout his career, he has been awarded nine patents for products that are used in prominent systems including Microsoft Office 365 and Azure Cyber Security.

In addition, Gal has five years of experience in researching algorithms for cloud-based storage systems.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from The Open University of Israel, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Israel Institute of Technology.
