Palm & Bean produces ready-to-drink bottled coffee.
Unlike traditional coffee drinks, beverages from Palm & Bean combine coffee and coconut milk.
The company believes that the sweetness of coconut milk creates a substitute to traditional milk and creamers.
According to the National Coffee Association, 62% of Americans drink coffee on a daily basis.
But research suggests the number of U.S. coffee shops is declining. And more people are turning to ready-to-drink options for their coffee. In fact, in 2018, the American ready-to-drink coffee market is expected to reach $2.5 billion.
Palm & Bean started selling its coffee in March 2017. Its products are available online through the company’s website, and at Thrive Market, an online retailer of organic goods.
Palm & Bean's products are also available in 70 retail stores across Southern California.
Co-founder and CEO Martin Molina has more than 25 years’ experience in the food and beverage industry, including time with Nestle and Pepsi.
In 2011, Martin worked with Evolution Fresh juice company. He was instrumental in helping the company get acquired by Starbucks in 2012 for $30 million.
