Ravean is a new kind of clothing company.

From jackets and gloves to backpacks and blankets, Ravean’s patented products protect people from cold weather, and take things one step further by offering battery-powered heat.

The result is a line of apparel that’s built for everyone from city commuters to outdoor enthusiasts.

Imagine camping with friends and being able to slide into a sleeping bag with that extra dose of heat. Or wrapping yourself up in a heated parka as you wait for the city bus.

Whatever Mother Nature dishes out, Ravean’s apparel keeps you warm and toasty.

According to GearInstitute, Ravean is making the “best lightweight heating elements in the business,” while The Chicago Tribune noted “Ravean(s) coat is a powerful weapon against cold temps.”

And along with apparel offering extra heat, products such as Ravean’s battery-powered jackets and backpacks enable people to charge their electronic devices.

It’s all part of the emerging “smart clothing” market — valued at $35 billion.

This sector was previously dominated by smart watches. But smart clothing and apparel is on the rise.

According to CNBC, Google and Levi’s are working on a line of smart clothing, while Chinese manufacturers are developing a variety of apparel from smart belts to smart shoes.

Ravean’s revenues, meanwhile, are increasing. In 2015, it brought in $1.3 million. In 2016, that figure jumped to nearly $1.8 million. And in 2017, it's projecting sales to reach $6.5 million.

The company has 30,000 customers so far, and has been mentioned in media outlets including Forbes, Mashable, GearHungry and The Denver Post.
