HireJoe is a mobile app that helps homeowners book home repair projects.

Over the past five years, home maintenance has grown into a $2.5 billion industry.

But finding an experienced, reputable handyman can be a challenge.

HireJoe offers a solution to this issue. Its app enables homeowners to choose a contractor, and then negotiate terms such as payment, scheduling, and project details.

Contractors, meanwhile, use HireJoe to attract customers.

Since launching the alpha version of its app in June 2016, HireJoe has generated $180,000 in revenue (it charges a 15% service fee for all projects completed). And it's helped more than 1,000 homeowners complete their projects.

The company will release a beta version of its app later this month.
