Retina Technologies is a medical-device company seeking to eliminate treatable vision loss and blindness.

It’s created OcuVue, a modular headset that combines virtual reality, retinal imaging, and machine learning. These components work together to provide affordable, comprehensive vision exams that can be performed by any healthcare professional.

Retina Technologies is targeting the $5 billion U.S. market for eye examinations. It’s developed a prototype of its headset and raised funds from Harvard Business Alumni Angels. It also has partnerships with Mount Sinai Health System and its ophthalmic branch, the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
