Stodo is an on-demand delivery service geared toward small cities and suburban communities.

The company delivers items including fast food, beer, wine, dry cleaning, and groceries directly to a customer's home.

According to a recent article from technology blog TechCrunch, online food delivery in the U.S. is a $210 billion market. This enormous figure is due to the success of several delivery services — for example:

Postmates is an on-demand delivery service for items including food, drinks, and groceries. According to TechCrunch, Postmates generates more than $250 million in annual revenues…

And Grubhub (NYSE: GRUB), another online food delivery service, has a market cap of $8.4 billion. Grubhub owns several food ordering websites including OrderUp, Seamless, and Eat24.

But while these companies focus on operating in highly-populated urban areas, Stodo is targeting the 30,000 smaller cities across the U.S.

Customers place orders directly through Stodo’s Facebook page. They can also place orders over the phone. This method enables customers to speak directly to people, ensuring more accurate ordering than using a website. Once placed, orders are sent to local drivers who pick up and deliver the items.

The company charges a $2.99 delivery fee and a 9.9% convenience fee for each order. In April 2018, Stodo will beta test a monthly subscription option. This will cost $19 and include up to 30 deliveries per month with no delivery fee.

Stodo launched its platform in 2016 in Naugatuck, Connecticut. That year, the company generated $41,000 in revenue with an average customer order value of $25. Nearly 90% of customers made multiple orders through the service.

As of Q1 2018, Stodo has generated more than $100,000 in revenue.
