Sweat-Resistant Cosmetics For Women
Sweat Cosmetics produces a line of beauty products specifically designed for women with an active lifestyle.
With its cosmetics, Sweat is targeting two rapidly expanding markets:
The $17 billion beauty industry…
And the $45 billion “athleisure” market — in other words, clothing suitable for exercise and everyday wear.
Over the last two years, there’s been a significant increase in M&A activity within the beauty industry, specifically with respect to skincare companies — for example:
Unilever acquired South Korean cosmetics company Carver Korea for $2.7 billion…
Estee Lauder acquired Too Faced Cosmetics for $1.4 billion…
And L’Oreal purchased a trio of skincare brands for $1.3 billion.
The idea for Sweat originated after the company’s founders had trouble finding cosmetics that didn’t cause breakouts, and were strong enough to withstand athletic competitions and workouts.
Sweat Cosmetics’ products are all natural, hypoallergenic, and free of any toxic or harmful ingredients.
The sunblock is water and sweat resistant, while the foundation is dermatologist-approved, and contains antioxidants and vitamin E.
Sweat Cosmetics sells its products through its company website. In addition, products are sold through retailers including Anthropologie, Revolve, and Soft Surroundings.
In the past two years, Sweat has generated more than $800,000 in revenue.
The company has held promotional events with Lululemon and Soul Cycle, and has a partnership with Fabletics, a direct-to-consumer subscription retailer for women’s sportswear that generates $235 million in annual revenue.
