Robotic Pets for Seniors
Tombot has created robotic emotional-support animals for seniors.
Named one of Time Magazine’s 2020 “Best Inventions,” this product is on track to become the first realistic, affordable, FDA-regulated robotic animal.
The animals are designed to help the fifty-five million people worldwide who suffer from dementia and cognitive impairments. They’re also a solution for older folks who battle depression, loneliness, and isolation — all of which increased during the coronavirus pandemic.
Tombot’s animals respond to touch, voice, movement, and light. They operate with a smartphone app that enables customization and software updates. At less than $450 retail, these animals are significantly more affordable than multi-thousand-dollar robots, and an upgrade from mechanical toys.
Tombot has raised nearly five million dollars from investors including Wavemaker Three-Sixty Health. The company has been featured in Forbes, NBC News, Oprah Magazine, Digital Trends, and Reuters.
