Modbook makes the tablet that Apple won’t.

You see, in the past, your options for a tablet were extremely limited:

You could either have one that ran Apple’s awesome operating system...

Or you could have one that let you write and draw on its screen with a pen.

But you couldn’t have both.

Until now...

Led by a former senior executive of Apple, a start-up called Modbook has created a pen-enabled tablet that runs the Mac operating system.

With Modbook, you get a powerful, lightning-fast operating system combined with the ability to take notes, write e-mails, and design sketches with the use of a pen.

Modbook is targeting the $1.8 billion market for power/creative users desperate for the workstation-class performance no iPad can offer.

You might think Apple is displeased about this development. But as turns out, Modbook is being advised by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak — and "Woz" is impressed.

“I’m a gadget guy, so I love to collect new, interesting things,” Wozniak said. “What an incredible device this is.”

And it’s not just Wozniak who’s taken a shine to Modbook.

“We have always been impressed by the Modbook,” MacWorld magazine wrote. “Sturdy and Strong. Great for creating design work on the move.”

The first generation Modbook was created in 2008. This was followed by the Modbook Pro, which has generated nearly $3 million in orders.

Modbook already has more than 3,000 customers in 70 countries, including Nike, Visa, Disney and Warner Brothers.

But now the company is releasing the Modbook Pro X...

This tablet features a 15.4-inch retina display, the ability to accommodate three external monitors, and it comes with up to six terabytes of storage. (That’s three times more than you can get with the latest Macbook Pro.)

Modbook tablets can be used in landscape or portrait mode, and can easily be transformed into powerful laptops or desktop work stations.

The company has raised $1.6 million to date, including more than $400,000 from a Kickstarter campaign in 2014, which vaulted it into the Top 100 success in KickStarter technology projects.

With its current funding round, Modbook aims to fuel the launch of its Modbook Pro X, complete with a massive sales and marketing effort in the U.S. The company also hopes to grow its sales and customer support teams, and to scale its production efforts.
