Learn Tech Skills by Racing Cars
Emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are critical for the future.
Yet just 10% of teachers are confident incorporating these "higher-level technologies" into student learning. And 60% of the methods for teaching them are passive, like watching videos or reading articles.
AP Racing can help. This company educates students by having them race autonomous cars online. Students build their own race cars and compete in weekly racing simulations. As they advance up a leaderboard, they learn additional AI and ML skills.
AP Racing was started by Akin Shoyoye, who previously worked for two of the world’s leading autonomous vehicle companies: Zoox and GM Cruise. Co-Founder Sai Sanigepalli developed ML algorithms for “internet of things” devices at the University of California, Berkeley, and has led computer science bootcamps for K-12 students.
AP Racing has acquired more than 50 users during a “beta” testing phase. It’s raising capital to release a full version of its platform to high school students.
