Harnessing the Ocean to Create Energy
Oscilla Power is developing energy conversion equipment that harnesses the power of ocean waves.
The company’s flagship wave-energy converter is called the “Triton.” This is a large surface float that connects to a ring-shaped reaction structure. As waves move the float, it reacts against the ring-shaped structure, causing a rotation of drivetrains and creating energy.
Oscilla has earned more than $15 million in milestone-based grant funding, and has been issued 16 patents.
It aims to deploy its energy converter in Q1 2021.
